Digital Dozen: Tropical - Toucans

Oh my gosh ya'll, I made it to Day 5. I obviously deserve all the praise. *eye roll*

Anyways, for today's look, I started with a base of Tonic Caliente (which I stupidly forgot was magnetic) and then I stamped on some greenery with Painted Polish Stamped in Honeydew from MoYouLondon Tropical Collection 10 I followed that up with some reverse stamped toucans from MoYouLondon Tropical Collection 05 and 06. They were made with Painted Polish Midnight Mischief, Cirque Colors Carpe Diem, and a sample color orange from Cirque Colors.

These are super fun and I'm pretty relieved to have the entire week is finished.

Enjoy & until next time, Amy Lee

Digital Dozen: Tropical - Birds of Paradise

Day 4, can you believe it? Somehow I'm going to have to scare up a day 5, but it looks like I might make it.

I got a package in the mail and had to use the polish ASAP, because of course that's what I do. So while I didn't intend to do two full Painted Polish mani's in a row....here we are. But look how pretty this polish is...

It's Painted Polish Here's to 5 Years. I just love that pale citrine green, and it's holo so added bonus! I then went in with Painted Polish Midnight Mischief (my go to black stamping polish) and MoYou London Tropical Collection 05 to create all the lovely bird silhouettes. This look is so simple but striking. I just adore it.

Digital Dozen: Tropical Sunset

Day 3 and the hot-streak continues! WHO AM I? I'm going to make this post short and sweet because I'm writing it during a baby nap and it's game on if she wakes up. So basically, I love sunsets over the beach and here's that on my nails. Whoo!

This look came together with all the Painted Polish I own. Not really (I own way more than these)....but they are my go-to stamping polish so I default to them alot. I used the Lina Make Your Mark 03 plate to make my gradient with Painted Polish Autumn Twilight 2.0, Stamped in Taro, Stamped in Salmon, and Stamped in Starfruit.  That gradient stamp is GENUIS and so easy to use. I also used Uber Chic 2-03 and Painted Polish Midnight Mischief for the palm trees.

Baby is waking up....gotta run!!!

Enjoy & until next time, Amy Lee

Digital Dozen: Tropical - Pineapples in a Pool

Day 2 of Digital Dozen does Tropical nails. Can you believe I showed up for day 2? I'm on a hot streak people!

For day 2, I found this hilarious photo of pineapples floating in a pool and I couldn't not do it. I actually revisited an old look that I did 5 years ago (holy crap!) for my base. I'm not sure my technique has improved at all, but you can peep the old version here.

I started with a base of China Glaze Highlight of my Summer (which has the worst formula EVER!) and then did a layer of China Glaze Ride the Waves over the top. While RtW was still wet I dabbed it with a piece of saran wrap, to create the look of water. I then did pineapples with MoYouLondon Tropical Collection 09 and used Painted Polish Stamped in Chocolate, Stamped in Starfruit, Woodland Whimsy 2.0, and Stamped in Greenery 2.0.

And there you have it. Hopefully I'll be back tomorrow with another one. Maybe the hot streak will continue.

Enjoy & until next time, Amy Lee

Digital Dozen: Tropical - Pink Leaves

I've really been slacking lately, but I'm trying to get my act together because I want to get back into blogging more. We'll see how that goes.

Today I'm joining up with the Digital Dozen, to bring Day 1 of our Tropical Mani's. I went with a super simple look for my first one. My daughter has this really cute skort that is just a baby pink background with green leaves on it. I recreated that on my nails for my first look. I started with a base of Cirque Colors Skate Date.

I then went in with leaves from MoYou London Tropical Collection 11, with a mix of Painted Polish Stamped in Greenery 2.0, Woodland Whimsy 2.0, and Stamped in Mint.

So there you have it. Super simple but a fun, high impact look.  I'm sorry for the state of my nails, I've really been struggling with them. They've been a mess since my pregnancy. Easily broken, peeling, and just hard in general. If anyone has tips, throw them my way.

Enjoy & until next time, Amy Lee

Digital Dozen: June Birthday Mani

Hey y'all. Long time no blog. I feel like I say that every time. Mommy life is hard and I don't have quite the free time or energy that I used to have, so posts are few and far between. However, I wanted to pop in and participate in the Digital Dozen's June Birthday celebration. It was a little selfish of me, cause it's my birthday and I picked the design.

The original design can be seen below, but first I'll show off my nails.

For this design I started with a base of Cirque Colors Carpe Diem, then using a ton of the Vice Collection (Hedonist/yellow, Lean/purple, Wanderlust/blue, Taboo/violet) as well as Fire Island/orangey-red. I stamped over that using a design from UberChic 1-03 with Painted Polish Midnight Mischief. I tried to stay as true to the design as possible, but it got a little wonky towards the edges.  Here is the original design for reference:

Be sure to pop over and see other members of Digital Dozen's interpretations. They all look really great.

Enjoy & until next time, Amy Lee

Digit-al Dozen does Glitter: Reverse Glitter

Hold onto your butts kids. Today is about to get weird. Of course I had to save the weird look for last. I'm just going to show you. I'm not even going to try and explain it until after you've seen it.

Welp. There it is. I'm calling this the reverse glitter. It's obviously NOT PRACTICAL at all. To create this, I first did my nails with OPI Bubble Bath, which in case you were wondering, is my perfect nude. After that was dry, I applied a "top coat" of liquid latex and waited for that to dry. Then I aggresively sprayed my hand with hairspray and dumped a metric shit ton of glitter on. I used a mix of three neutral Martha Stewart glitters. I continued to add hairspray and glitter until I liked the mixed up look. Finally I topped it off with a final spritz of hair spray to set it. I quickly pulled off the liquid latex to reveal my "bare nails" and I then took pictures. It was immediately washed off, while I tried to avoid touching anything in my house.

So there it is. Five glitter looks for Glitter Week. I hope you enjoyed it. Be sure to check out the other glitter looks in the link up below.

Enjoy & until next time, Amy Lee
