It's day 11 of the Untried Polish Challenge. I know this one is late, but I'll be all caught up for tomorrow now. The boyfriend and I joined Title Boxing, a boxing/kickboxing focused gym, where you do mainly boxing/kickboxing classes on heavy bags. OH MY GAWD!!! Immediately after that, I went over to a friends house, who is ready to pop at any moment, to entertain her kiddos (aka my nieces, I'm Crazy Aunt Amy) for a bit. Have you ever played Kangaroo on the trampoline? It's harder than it sounds. Needless to say, I was exhausted by the time I got home, and couldn't even lift my arms, let alone a finger, to change my polish.
Anyways, enough story time. On to the polish. Today's challenge is Ugliest. I really struggled with this one. I don't have any polishes that I consider "ugly" so to say, but I do have this one sitting in my untried well, because I don't like it. So here it is.
As always, go check out the other lovely ladies participating in this challenge.

What do you think of the frosted finish on polishes? Love it or hate it?
Enjoy & until next time, Amy Lee
*all polishes featured in this post were purchased by me
I have to say it's not a bad colour, although I also have a few polishes that I am giving to my mom.
ReplyDeleteUgly is a hard challenge to do, I love every polish!
I like the actual color itself, it's more the finish that ruins it for me.
DeleteIs frosted the same thing as pearl? Not sure, but they are often hard to apply and not get swirlies, so I feel ya. I like them on certain colors, but I agree w you, this one seems like a really really old polish someone would have worn in the 1970s.
ReplyDeleteI think it is. At least the finish on both look the same to me.
DeleteI feel the same way about frosted polishes. My mom, on the other hand, only likes freaking frost polishes...I don't get it!! Her favorite pedi polish is like this frosted silver that I hate but whatever. I don't think this one is too ugly but yeah...the finish...ick!
ReplyDeleteMust be something about Moms.
DeleteI like to use this color when I do vintage roses or as some other accent. I don't like it a whole lot by itself. I always feel like it needs something else with it.
ReplyDeleteThats a good idea. Maybe I'll try to utilize it like that before passing off to the Moms.
DeleteI love the colour though. It's pretty but let me honest, my mom won't love this but both my grandmas would GO GAGA for it! So I agree with you on them being dated.
ReplyDeleteI have no idea what my ugliest colour is. Probably that ugly custard powder yellow I have. Farking hate that colour!
I agree, the color is good. It's really the finish that ruins and dates it.
DeleteRead on Pointless Cafe, that she sponges her frosted ones cause she, too doesn't like the finish and sponging removes the brush stroke look. The color itself is so pretty on your hands, you have a wonderful skin tone! I really enjoy your blog, the stories and great pics. Plus doesn't everyone need a Crazy Aunt Amy!
ReplyDeleteThanks!!! I don't mind the color itself, it isn't original, but its a good pink. The finish ruins it. I"ve never heard of sponging them on, I may have to give it a go.
DeleteThanks for visiting. It means alot to hear good feedback.
P.S. I love that Winter Is Coming is your user name.
This looks really metallic coppery in pictures. Not bad. I agree I don't like frosted/pearly finishes. But my MIL does... so I send them her way when I come across some. :)
ReplyDeleteThe pictures do give it a metallicy look, but trust me, its the icky kinda finish.
